The area of Fort Field from Morley Chapel to the top of Le Val Des Terres falls within the St Peter Port parish boundary. The land itself is owned and managed by ACLMs on behalf of the States of Guernsey. Some years ago part of it was sown with wildflower seeds in an attempt to support wildlife and create an interesting feature. At the beginning of 2025 The Pollinator Project had discussions with the SoG with a view to the charity becoming more involved in its management.

Tidy up those Hedges!

It's that time of year again when we ask you to get those hedges trimmed and help to keep our highways and byways safe and tidy. The States is committed to not using glyphosate to kill the weeds which has caused a lot more to spring up along the roads and pathways. It's time-consuming and expensive in manpower to have the States clear them so why not get out there and help by clearing the one's in front of your homes. A little community spirit can go a long way...
