Is your pooch perfect or is your pooch a pickle? Does he paw at you for attention or does he patently ignore you?
The St Peter Port Douzaine has launched a competition to find out just what your pooches get up to in GY1. Whether lounging in the sun or frolicking in the sea, we want to see what makes your pooch the crown of St Peter Port.
The contest will be judged by Steve Byrne from GSPCA. He will decide which pet will receive a professional portrait and print of themselves courtesy of Paul Mariess Photography. They will also become the ‘face’ of all the St Peter Port Constables’ dog related promotions in 2021 starting with the annual call for dog tax payable in January 2021.

Open to all St Peter Port pooches, parishioners are encouraged to send in pictures of your pooches at their best along with the dog’s name, breed and contact details to firstname.lastname@example.org or via post to St Peter Port Constables’ Office. Lefebvre Street, St Peter Port, GY1 1JS.
The competition closes on Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December and the winner will be announced in the Guernsey Press, on our website and on social media on Sunday 10 January 2021.
Dog Tax is payable annually at a rate of £10.00 per dog and is due in January 2021.
Tax is due for all dogs over the age of 6 months – the only exceptions being in respect of a dog kept solely by a deaf or disabled person for their hearing or guidance (e.g. guide dogs for the blind or hearing dogs for the deaf).
Income generated from the collection of Dog Tax is credited to the parish’s Public Improvement Account which is used to fund items of general improvement for the parish at the discretion of the Douzaine.
